ECOWEEK

Ecoist NGO, with its cooperating partners ECOWEEK, SEEFED and NALED, will host, for the first time
international known event ECOWEEK from 26-30 November 2012 in Belgrade. This event will place Belgrade on
world cultural map, alongside with Athens, Rome, Thessaloniki, Copenhagen, Tel-Aviv, Istanbul, Jerusalem and
many other cities that care about the youth empowerment and dealing with challenges of sustainability.

The goal of the “ECOWEEK” is to contribute to rising awareness about importance of sustainable
development and improvement of environment in urban areas, trough synergy of public, civil and privet
sector.

The ECOWEEK event features international lectures and workshops for young professionals
and students, who will work on real-life projects from Belgrade in international teams, while promoting
innovative sustainable design solutions. Design solutions will be publicly displayed in certain locations in
Belgrade, and some of them will be realized in cooperation with GREENHOUSE platform.

Each year, ECOWEEK have been hosting keynote lecturers, some of the most prominent thinkers of
today: Al Gore, Shigeru Ban, Bjarke Ingels, Francis Kere, Rural Studio, DIRT Studio, David Orr and many
others. This ECOWEEK Belgrade will have an honor to listen, as a main keynote speaker of event, award
winning sustainable architect from France, Françoise-Hélène Jourda, whose office designed the first
positive energy office building in France.

This will be an occasion to learn more about sustainable building aspects, networking, team-work in international
environment with domestic and foreign experts, which will help us to create the path towards sustainable future.

Ecoist Creative Network and Eco-musketeers from Drinka Pavlovic primary school are inviting you to a fundraising event on Saturday, 1st of June 2013, in KC “Rex”, Jevrejska 16 in Belgrade, with a start 3 p.m. Main goal of the event is collecting of funds for realization of the “Green schools” project. All collected funds will go to the construction of vertical garden and open classroom in Drinka Pavlovics school yard in Belgrade.

The event will include a childrens play “On the top of the fir tree, under the pine tree” on which Eco-musketeers and Ecoist Creative Network will show you what can be made with creative team work! During conceptualisation of the theme, the most votes went to an idea where the Garbage City will be converted to the Green City, after a lot of hard work and effort of its citizen.

With a help of poems and verses taken from ecological ABC book of Dobrica Erić, this story has been transformed in scenario which Eco-musketeers are patiently studying. First stage in making the scenography was collecting old carboards, news papers, plastic containers, as well as collecting crayons, felt tips, brushes. After that, 2 scenography workshops took place in Mikser house, where other kids were invited to join and help in making of the scenography for the play.

Besides being a charity event, one of the goals of this play is also to educate young people about the importance of environmental protection and sustainability. By participating in organization of the play, Eco-musketeers are also displaying and improving their imagination, creativity, with development of comunicational skills and above all, team spirit!
